Biographical Sketch
Dr. Wasserman has been providing services in clinical
neuropsychology and psychoeducational assessment
for over two decades, while teaching psychology at
major universities and directing research and
development for selected psychological tests at
leading American test publishers. He completed a
two-year fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at
the L.S.U. and Tulane Medical Centers from 1987-
1989, and he earned his Ph.D. in 1990 in clinical
psychology from the University of Miami, Florida. Next Dr. Wasserman
created a pediatric neuropsychology service specializing in traumatic
brain injury at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, before joining the
test publishing industry, where he oversaw development of leading norm-
referenced measures of ability and behavior. Among the tests on which
he served as project director were the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales
(SB5), the California Verbal Learning Test (CVLT-II), the Delis-Kaplan
Executive Function System (D-KEFS), the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability
Test (NNAT), and the NEPSY: A Developmental Neuropsychological
Assessment. He has taught hundreds of graduate and undergraduate
students, as well as practicing psychologists, and he considers himself a
lifelong student of human nature. Most recently, he served as a
psychology faculty member at George Mason University (2001-2007),
where he developed the Cognitive Assessment Program that continues to
serve Fairfax County gifted and talented students. He is a licensed
clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
